It’s a well known fact that all LS1 Camaros and Firebirds cars have a “banging” issue when a set of long tube headers are installed. This banging causes the knock sensor to activate, causing a timing retard, taking away much needed horsepower under hard acceleration (usually at a drag strip when traction is ideal). This Mufflex hanger uses a rubber bumpstop that will not allow the Y-pipe to hit the underbody of the car causing this situation. The lower clamp and support rods are made out of stainless steel (tig welded for strength) and the upper rod is zinc coated steel.

IT WORKS!!!! I have Hooker headers and 3 inch y-pipe. My y-pipe would hit under my car all the time and not just at the track. When I would be driving down the highway at 70 mph and punch it the y-pipe would hit under the car. When I am at a stop sign and take off and the car shifts into 1st it would hit (A4). For awhile I thought that my motor mounts were broken but that was not the case. The only thing that worries me about the hanger is that the rubber pieces are very very close to the pipe, but I guess we will see how long they will last. Thanks to the ws6 store for finally getting something that really works. In all I spent under a $100 for the hanger (part and Installation). Thanks again

I have QTP headers and off road y pipe It helped get rid of most of the banging on launch bit I still get a little rattle when driving the car hard.

I have slp long tube headers high flow cats and y pip, and this unit mounts right where the o2 sensor is and i cannot install top flange without hitting o2 sensor. looks like a nice solid piece, however does not work on my application.
